JAGR : Collections is the continuation of the careful collecting and connoisseurship established at the John Alexander Ltd gallery.

While the core of the collection remains museum quality works of the proto-modern movement on which the gallery’s reputation was founded, establishing JAGR : Projects has enabled a greater freedom in our approach to collecting. Interesting and important examples of both period and contemporary furniture are now featured in the gallery alongside Reformed Gothic, Aesthetic, and Arts and Crafts design; where a measure of irreverence brings levity as well as insight to juxtaposition. Anchored by scholarly tradition, the unexpected abounds.
